Third NWG Meeting in South Korea

The Institute of North Korean Studies was the venue for the third NWG meeting in South Korea, which took place on 18 June 2020.

No less than 25 participants were part of the discussion, representing, amongst others, the armed forces, various ministries, universities and civil society. The focus of the meeting was a discussion on how to improve the role of South Korean women in UN peacekeeping, with specific focus on the Elsie initiative. The current status of gender equality in the South Korean military was discussed, and several follow-up activities were proposed.
