Participation in the 7th Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security

DCAF participated in this year’s Ulaanbaatar Dialogue, co-organized by the MFA and DCAF’s Mongolian partner, the Institute for Strategic Studies. DCAF held a presentation on “The OSCE and SSG/R as an Instrument for Regional Confidence-, Trust- and Security-building” on the second of five thematic sessions with participation of track 1 and 2 delegations from 20+ countries and various UN offices. The subsequent discussion focussed on opportunities for Mongolia to serve as an initiator and platform for regional cooperation, as well as its currently difficult political positioning vis-a-vis Russia, China and the rest of the world, following Russia’s war against Ukraine.
