First National Working Group Meeting in Afghanistan

The National Working Group in Afghanistan met for the first time on 8 June. It was held in Kabul, with 6 participants who represented various security sector actors. The meeting was hosted by DCAF's national SSG associate, the National Center for Dialogue & Progress.

The meeting was a platform for a discussion on the human security situation in Afghanistan, followed by a discussion on the effect of the withdrawal of US and international forces on human security and the security sector governance environment in Afghanistan. The meeting ended with an exchange on the potential for more focussed collaboration between DCAF and NCDP to collaborate on SSG/R in Afghanistan.
