As a follow-up to the 2nd IPF-SSG workshop on “Strengthening the Role of ASEAN Parliaments in Security Policy Reviews”, this workshop provided an overview of the state of affairs concerning national security policy formulation and review in ASEAN member states. This included a consideration of relevant policy documents (e.g. defence reviews), an examination of formulation and implementation of the policies, and the provision of recommendations for further action, with a particular emphasis on the role of parliamentarians.
