2021 Asia-Pacific Security Sector Governance Forum
On 14 and 15 December 2021 the 2021 Asia-Pacific Security Sector Governance Forum took place. It brought together over 30 representatives from institutions across the entire Asia-Pacific region. The participants shared updates and results of their national activities (such as national working groups) with each other on the first day. On the second day, the representatives discussed the implications of the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan and the coup in Myanmar for SSG efforts in the wider region. The forum ended with a discussion on the outlook and priorities for 2022. It was the second iteration of the regional forum that was held online.
The meeting was held under Chatham House rules, meaning that there is no recording available. A report of the forum will be made available at a later stage.
